Police hold man in connection with Arouca shooting

A 30-year-old man is in police custody on shooting relating offences.

The suspect is from Bon Air Gardens, Arouca and is being questioned, among other things, for knowledge on the shooting of four persons in Arouca on July 7, 2020.

Police said he was held on Friday night during a police operation led by Snr Supt Ramkhelawan, ASP Gyan, Insp Pitt and supervised by Cpl Gordon, Cpl Ali, and PC Hall, and included officers attached to the Major Operations Unit.

The four were shot on Tuesday night, just over a day after  Kyle “Rebel Sixx” George was shot and killed at his  Viceroy Crescent, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca home on Sunday night.

One of the four victims remains warded in a serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex having been shot six times.

The others have since been treated and discharged.
