Despite repeated warnings for citizens to adhere to the traffic laws and regulations which govern the nation’s roadways, 64 people were ticketed for speeding along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway.
The 64 were caught speeding during two police operations along the highway in the vicinity of Charlieville.
One operation took place between 9pm and midnight on Tuesday, and the other took place between 9am and midday on Wednesday.
One person, police said, was clocked in at 187km/h.
In Trinidad and Tobago, the speed limit for highways has been set at 100km/h.
The operation was supervised by Snr Sup Ramkhellawan, and support was given by Sgt Batson, Sgt Smith, Sgt Ramroop, Cpl Dwarika, Cpl Mohammed, Cpl Robinson, Cpl Kaiser, Cpl Haynes, W-Cpl Thomas, and PC Rostant, among others.
