Police seek suspect in connection with Maloney killings

Police are asking for the public’s assistance following Tuesday night’s killing of two men in Maloney.

Shawn Lawrence, 30, and Shawn Dubarry, 31, were both fatally shot along Flamingo Boulevard, Maloney Gardens around 11 pm on Tuesday.

A total of 19 spent shells were found at the scene of this shooting.

Dubarry died on the scene, while Lawrence succumbed to his wounds at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment.

Both men are said to be from Building 2, West Maloney Gardens.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have relevant information is urgently asked to call the Homicide Bureau at the Arouca police station, or call 999, 555, CRIME STOPPERS at 800-TIPS or share the information via the TTPS Mobile App.

According to police reports, the deceased were liming at a tent along the roadway, along with two other men, when the group was approached by a lone gunman.

The man opened fire on the group before fleeing the scene on foot.

All four were shot in the aftermath, resulting in the two fatalities.

Lawrence and Dubarry succumbed to their wounds, while a 31-year-old man was shot to his right hand and a 23-year-old was shot to his left leg.

The two injured parties were taken to the Medical Complex in Mt Hope where they were treated and have since been discharged.

The scene was visited by a team of officers including Sgt Stanisclause, Cpl Mundoo, PcCWren, PC Mahabir, PC Hosein, and others.
