Ramps parenting workshops address online learning and more
Ramps Logistics recently concluded weeklong parenting workshops to assist and support parents who have children undergoing online schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The workshops, conducted in Trinidad and Guyana, focused on tips to help parents and students in the transition to online learning.
The Ramps team developed a concept of hosting a week of hour-long workshops addressing different aspects of distance learning.
The workshops were held at 5pm daily to cater to working parents and guardians.
Each session catered to a specific topic and was run by a facilitator who was an expert in that field.
The sessions included: - Study Techniques by Samantha Liverpool; Methods of Teaching and Learning with Johnathan Barakat; Fitness and Nutrition by Cidell Patrick; Parental Mental Health Wellness with Caitlin Vieira and Youth Mental Health Wellness with Dianna Stuger-Shepherd.
The workshop reached over 386 participants with more than half of them completing all sessions in five days.
On completion of the workshop, participants receive a workshop certificate of completion.
Ramps said the objective of these sessions was to ensure parents and guardians are better equipped to handle this new frontier of schooling.
This won’t be the last workshop of its kind offered as Ramps intends to continue to host initiatives such as these to provide support during this challenging period.
“It is in times like these, businesses must step up and play their part. The only way to overcome this Pandemic is together, through collaboration and cooperation,” the company said.
