RBC Royal Bank has pledged a donation of $1,009,000 toward the Ministry of Education’s Adopt-A-School initiative.

The donation will be used to purchase 300 devices.

These devices, the Ministry of Education said, will be distributed to 21 schools, including primary, secondary and special schools across Trinidad and Tobago.

During a handover ceremony on Monday, RBC Royal Bank, Managing Director (T&T), Gretchen Camacho-Mohammed reiterated the bank’s commitment to the development of communities.

She said this donation is just one way the company will continue to give support.

Education Minister Nyan Gadsby-Dolly thanked RBC for its contribution as she stressed the role of corporate T&T in the development of education at this time.

The Minister reinforced that right now, the old adage “It takes a village to raise a child” should be at the forefront of the minds of all citizens and that together, provisions can be made for access to education for all learners.

Organisations and individuals interested in donating devices can contact the Ministry via 622-2181 ext. 1429 and 1426 or by email at adoptaschool@moe.gov.tt.
