San Fernando building damaged by fire

Fire officers rushed to the scene at a fire in San Fernando which damaged a two storey-building along Cooper Street.

From initial information, fire officers were first called out to the scene around 2.30 am this morning.

Appliances from the San Fernando fire station were despatched and officers were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.

However, just before dawn, officials received another call that the fire had reignited.

While no one was injured, up to 9 am today there was no official estimate for damages or a cause for the fire.
