Sando man charged for murder after allegedly beating victim with baton

A 43-year-old San Fernando man has been charged with murder.
Anchard Hosein also known as “Rocky” was booked on Thursday following advice from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore-Paul.
The charge stemmed from an incident which occurred on July 19. The victim, Raffick Mohammed, went to his girlfriend's home in Golconda where he allegedly found the suspect. A physical altercation resulted in Mohammed being beaten with a baton.
Police responded to the incident and the victim was conveyed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated and warded in serious condition.
Further enquiries by police led to Hosein's arrest on July 22. Mohammed succumbed to his injuries on July 24 and the suspect was informed the following day.
