Update: Boy, 16, among two killed in Cascade

Two people, including a 16-year-old boy, were shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Cascade on Thursday evening.

Another man was also injured.

According to reports, around 6.50 pm officers responded to a report of explosions in the Cascade area.

Lincoln Gopie, 36, of Trincity was shot and killed, while two other victims were taken to the Port of Spain General hospital.

Micah Payne, 16, of Foncette Road, Cascade succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

A third victim, who was shot in the leg, remains warded at hospital.

Police were told that four masked men were observed leaving the scene in a white AD wagon.

They received information that the vehicle was in the Belmont district.

Checks were made in the area, however, no vehicle fitting description was seen.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are on the scene of a double murder that occurred along Foncette Road, Cascade on Thursday night.

Preliminary reports say a teenager was among the dead while a third person was injured. 

The victims were said to be killed in a drive-by.
