Teens held for robbing a senior citizen of cell phone, cash
Two teenagers are expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate tomorrow on allegations of armed robbery.
The two were held on Friday after a senior citizen reported to officers of the Arouca police that he had been robbed at gunpoint while walking along the Eddie Hart Savannah, the night before.
A quantity of cash, and his cellular phone, were among the valuables taken.
After the matter was reported, investigators made contact with the Cyber Unit and the cellular phone was triangulated.
The information was passed on to the Arouca CID where Sgt Highly and Cpl Bernard led the team of WPC Neptune, and PC’s Ali, Kerr and Charles, to the Dinsley community.
A search was conducted at the address provided and officers found and seized the stolen items.
A toy gun was also seized.
Two persons, aged 18 and 19 who resided in the home, were taken into custody and placed on identification parades.
WPC Neptune is continuing investigations.
