Ten held for breaching stay-at-home order

While the second phase of T&T’s COVID-19 reopening programme began on Thursday, citizens are being reminded that under the stay-at-home orders, persons still cannot congregate in groups of more than five.

This reminder comes after ten people were arrested on Thursday night in Arouca by officers of the Northern Division’s Major Operations Unit.

The officers received intelligence of a COVID party in Arouca.

Cpl Gordon, under the supervision of Snr Sup David and ASP Gyan, took his officers to Parrot Drive, Bon Air Gardens, where they observed a group of persons along the roadway.

The group was confronted and asked to return to their homes, however, they allegedly resisted. As a result, the ten persons, which include three women, were arrested.

They were taken to the Arouca police station where they were charged by PC Graham.
