Just days after a bailey bridge had been erected to repair a sinkhole along Golden Grove Road, yet another mishap occurred resulting in plumes of water shooting into the air.

The Ministry of Works and Transport alerted drivers today that the Water and Sewerage Authority is again carrying out repairs near the bailey bridge on Golden Grove Road, Arouca:

‘Traffic Update: Motorists are advised to expect intermittent delays in traffic in the vicinity of the recently installed Bailey Bridge along Golden Grove Road, Arouca.’

‘This is necessary as personnel from the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) are currently attending to repairs to a pipeline in the vicinity of the Bailey Bridge.’

Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes if possible.

The sinkhole, which was reported on October 13, occurred alongside a burst pipeline. WASA said the collapsed bridge damaged the pipeline.

The Ministry of Works and Transport has since erected a bailey bridge to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.
