Trini Twitter tags wrong Kamla in election posts
Trini Twitter users have been mistakenly tagging a woman named Kamla instead of their intended target Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Kamla Bhatt, host of The Kamla Show, a weekly TV show from Silicon Valley, has been taking the error in good stride however.
“‘tis that time of the year when I have to respectfully point out that am not from #Trinidad,” she wrote on July 16.

Trini Twitter was unapologetic, however, expressing their love for her instead.
“I feel like you are one of us now… cept we like you,” replied one user.
“Thank you for continuously being our most unproblematic kamla,” another wrote.
With the overwhelming response to her plight, Kamla expressed her intention to visit one day and even tried to familiarise herself some more with our culture.
Must visit Trinidad & Tobago when all this is over. 😁— Kamla (@kamla) July 17, 2020
“Since I cannot visit Trinidad & Tobago at this time maybe you all can share your favorite piece of music? This way I can learn something fun new. Thank you all,” she said, receiving a flood of music from T&T.
Kamla was born in Chennai and worked in Silicon Valley for over a decade.
