Trinidad and Tobago’s weather: Orange Level Alert
Here’s the weather forecast courtesy the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service.
Cloudy to overcast conditions are expected with light to moderate showers in broad areas and heavy showers or thunderstorms in varying localities due to the passage of Tropical Storm Gonzalo. Improvement expected by evening. Night will be settled with a few showers expected after midnight.
Trinidad and Tobago is still under an Orange Level Adverse Weather Alert; Tobago also has a Tropical Storm Warning as Tropical Storm Gonzalo is expected to make a direct hit on the island. Trinidad's alert takes effect from 11 am, while Tobago's begins at 8 am.
Those in the storm’s path are advised to take all necessary precautions to avoid adverse impacts where possible.
Seas are expected to be rough with waves measuring up to 3.5 metres in open waters and one metre in sheltered areas.
A Yellow Level Hazardous Seas Alert takes effect for Tobago and East Trinidad, this takes effect at 8 am on Saturday and will end at 2 am on Sunday.
