Over the next few weeks, as Trinidad and Tobago celebrates Independence and Republic Days, we are celebrating life and the beauty of this country through photos submitted by our readers.

Today's image is of a flock of Scarlet Ibis flying over the Nariva swamp. Sai Saidu, an amateur photographer submitted the striking photo. 

The Scarlet Ibis was declared as one of our national birds in 1962.
