Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival gets $200,000 grant from Gov’t

The Ministry of Tourism has handed over a grant valued at $200,000 to the Trinidad and Tobago Festival (ttff).

This was disclosed by Tourism Minister Randall Mitchell in a tweet on Tuesday.

He said: “We know that there are challenges facing the creative sector, so it is heartening to see @ttfilmfestival has found a way to connect to audiences to share stories through film. Today, the Ministry distributed a $200,000 grant as Government continues to support the arts sector.”

This year, the festival will take place online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One hundred and thirty films will be shown across various categories via https://online.ttfilmfestival.com/.

Meanwhile, another category for student films has been added to the line-up – 26 student films will be available for viewing and will vie for the best student film prize.

The 2020 ttff includes 19 world premieres and 14 Caribbean feature-length films.
