Two questioned as man killed in Princes Town dumped in Ste Madeline

A 23-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man are in police custody following the murder of Princes Town businessman Christopher Hosein.

The two were detained at a home in Princes Town yesterday afternoon and are expected to be questioned today.

Hosein, 44, was found dead yesterday, next to his Kia Sorento, in a dumpsite off the M1 Tasker Road, in Ste Madeleine. His hands were bound with duct tape, and a length of rope was attached to his neck. His body, as well as his vehicle, were also burnt.

Hosein was a father of two. He was also a former member of the fire service, having spent 12 years as a fire prevention officer. He, however, eventually left and established his own business.

Police believe that Hosein was killed in his house along St James Street, Princes Town and that his killers attempted to dispose of the body in Ste Madeleine.

A team of officers from the Southern Division and the Homicide Bureau, including Snr Supt Yusuff Gaffar, ASP Persad and Sgt Ramlogan, visited the scene.

An autopsy is carded to take place today at the Forensic Science Center in Federation Park.
